Excellent use of the Spirit day motif. You took a site-wide proposal and integrated it into your ongoing comic story flawlessly, giving a background character a fitting and beautiful back-story that makes him more rounded up, and a more sympathetic character to the viewer.
You managed to convey three very powerful emotions in this piece. Courage, Hope and Hilarity. You made many of us remember our own experiences during childhood. Great work! Lyra's discovery... Priceless.
Your techniques is as always unique, you have a very set style and you use it well. I can only assume that it's what allows you to be so prolific. I dislike slightly the next to last Lyra's vignette, the one where she says "wait". I feel that her face shouldn't have been cut. A full face picture would have worked better in conveying her expression.
As always your productions ooze originality, the whole series is amazing.
This deserves more than just my regular comments, because this partucular comic hits close to home.
I've only learned a short time ago all about Spirit Day. When I first heard about it, I thought that it had something to do with Oktoberfest in some fashion; but as someone on here told me, it's got to do with all of the negative effects of bullying. But I thought this was something ongoing, and not just devoted to one day out of the year.
This is certainly something I can related to. I was bullied myself straight through High School, mostly because I was a "freak". I thought differently than everybody else; even though, on the outside, I looked like everybody else. I had my friends, but it seemed I had more enemies than friends. That's why this comic really hit home for me.
Also, I loved Lyra's reaction when she realized that Iron Will was half human. But it's your typical Lyra.
oh mah gosh she finally figures out what a minautaur is. gosh she is kinda clueless but with all the action that she has been in i can't really blame her.
Dude, your work is awesome. This story really keeps me wanting se more and more! Good job! Also Lyra... Lyra is best background pony! Or is it Colgate?
