Vision: This strip takes me back to some of the darker episodes of the Doctor of the 1980s. While it's true that he doesn't like losing anyone, it has been known to happen to sympathetic characters. Watching Bon-Bon's cyberconversion and transformation from 'victim' to 'menace' is a lot like what a person could expect from the era of the Fourth or Fifth Doctor.
Originality: While this does have a similarity to Rose and the Tenth Doctor's encounter with the Cyberman that used to be the Alternate Jackie Tyler, the immediacy of the horror differentiates it from the source.
Technique: Watching the tension build as they try and fail to save their friend highlights how desperate things have gotten.
Impact: This, as I said, is a rather typical example of a rather sad side-effect of dealing with the Doctor. Sometimes, even he is powerless to stop things and we're looking at the end result.
It's not the wrong screwdriver. I gave him the Tardis of the 10th Doctor and the Screwdriver of the 11th so people could make up for themselves which Doctor this is. Be it the 10th or the 12th. For me, Whooves is just Whooves.
I had the notion from every evidence I could gather about Dr.Whooves that he's the pony equivalent (or changed form) of the 10th doctor. From the youtube videos to everything else, it indicated that Dr.Whooves is canonically the 10th doctor. That's why I pointed it out. Might just be my whovian notions not letting me let this slip but Dr.Whooves is the 10th,
btw, awesome comic I enjoyed it thoroughly and watched you for more
I can't imagine the pain Lyra and The doctor go through. Knowing lives are being taken every moment. And to have you best friend turned its terrible. The only advise I see is "Run, their not who they once were." (fantastic job, you've clearly gotten to many people and it shows :3)
Don't get your hopes too high. If you look at previous parts you see that the all the cyber ponies can change their eyes from blue to red and red to blue. Bon Bon also changed her eyes to red once she saw Lyra as a target.
